Your First Step In Choosing a New Veterinarian
24 Apr 2009
For many pet owners find a great veterinarian is as important as finding a good family doctor. While many factors may need to be considered, such as, location, hours of operation, after hours availability for emergencies and fees. We here at SFF, recomend running your veterinarian or prospective veterinarians name thru the data base that can utilized by clicking the link below. A most useful link, allowing you to investigate veterinarians nationwide, will allow you to ensure that your veterinarian has not had their license revoked. It will also alow you to see whether or not the state you reside in has ever reprimaned your veterinarian for sub standard care.
We here at SFF are aware of local veterinarian that had several animals die during routine spay and neuters. This left us searching for ways to ensure our animals where getting top notch care, we found the link below. Simpley click on it, scroll down to occupation, click veterinarian, fill in the required fields, state, name and zip code.Should the search return a YES click on the yes and it will detail why your state has cited this particular veterinarian.

Ps This link will also allow you to check out the license of any proffesional holding a state issued license, from your veterinarian to your childs pediatrician.
I am happy to report that neither of the two veterinarians whose services we use have ever been cited.

I add to the above by saying…if the Vet shows no interest in your dog/cat, other than clinically treating the problem…walk away..
If he/she shows no compassion when treating your dog/cat, is rough handling them….walk away and go someone else….this has recently happened to me when we moved to this area…we no longer go to that person…
